Gary Schwartz, Founder, President & CEO
As president and CEO of Impact Mobile, Gary has led the company since its inception, conceiving of many innovative, industry-first mobile projects. Gary is very active in the mobile industry; he is chair/co-chair of various MEF, MMA, IAB, and CWTA committees and working groups. Prior to founding Impact Mobile in 2002, Gary had been involved in numerous entrepreneurial ventures in the IT and telecommunications industry. Gary is an honors graduate from Columbia University, and has an MA from Stanford University Center, Tokyo. He has published two books on mobile marketing: “The Impulse Economy — Understanding Mobile Shoppers and What Makes Them Buy”, and “Fast shopper. Slow Store — A Guide to Courting & Capturing the Mobile”.
John Leon, COO
John joined Impact Mobile in 2003 as its Chief Operations Officer. He has extensive hi-tech experience with different corporations: John worked for 15 years at Nortel Networks in various functions; his last position was VP-GM of Nortel’s Wireless Solutions Group in Canada. After leaving Nortel, John held the position of VP, Sales & Marketing at Unique Broadband Systems and VP Sales & Marketing for OnMobile Systems, a Silicon Valley start-up. John has an honors B.A.Sc. (Chemical Engineering) and MBA degrees from University of Toronto, and is a member of Professional Engineers of Ontario.
Tim Strike, VP, Operations
Tim joined Impact Mobile in 2003 and leads the Operations, Professional Services, IT and Development teams. Prior to Impact Mobile, Tim worked as Director of Product Development for ZAQ Interactive, an online media company. He also worked as a software developer, network and systems architect, and development manager for various companies including Royal Bank of Canada and Targetnet Inc. Tim has an honors B.Sc. degree from Queens University in Computer Science and Mathematics.
Laurie McLean, VP, Finance & Contract Administration
Laurie joined Impact Mobile in 2008, and has been guiding the finance and contract administration teams since. Laurie has extensive experience working at various companies, such as Nortel Networks, with responsibilities spanning business, contract administration and operations management. Laurie has B.Sc. and MBA degrees from Waterloo University and University of Toronto, respectively.
